Several of Joy's relatives and friends have paid tribute to her by naming children after her. Thus far, the babies named after Joy are:

  • Eliana Yocheved Berman, daughter of Joy's friend Bracha Berman and her husband, Michael.

  • Simcha Batya Richter, daughter of Joy's friend Sharon Richter and her husband Shalom (Steve) Richter. Simcha's first name is a reference to "joy" and she is known as Simi.

  • Eitan Yehuda Rochwarger, son of Joy's brother Jonathan and his wife, Mandy. "Eitan" is a reference to Joy's strength and "Yehuda" is similar to "Yocheved".

  • Naava Yocheved Ginsberg, daughter of Joy's friend Yael Schlager Ginsberg and her husband, Dr. Darrell Ginsberg.

  • Michal Avigayil Balsam, daughter of Naftali Balsam (a first cousin of Joy's husband, Jerry) and his wife, Lisa. Because the names "Yocheved" and "Zlata" were already in their family, Lisa and Naftali gave their daughter the name "Avigayil" for its reference to "joy".

  • Tamara Leeba Fuchs, daughter of Joy's co-worker and friend Deena Fuchs and her husband, Benzion. Tamara Leeba's English name is Aimee Joy.

  • Eliyahu Simcha Parness, or, in English, Eli Samuel, son of Joy's first cousin Mandy Parness and her husband, Hillel. "Simcha" is a reference to "joy".

  • Roni Odaya Gershinsky, daughter of Joy's friends Zvi and Batsheva Gershinsky. "Roni" is a reference to "joy".

  • Aliza Zehava Rochwarger, daughter of Joy's brother Jonathan and his wife, Mandy. "Aliza" is a reference to "joy" and "Zehava" is analogous to Joy's middle name in Hebrew, Zlata.

  • Gavriella Esther Adler, daughter of Leah (a first cousin of Joy's husband, Jerry) and Jonathan Adler. The name "Gavriella" (Gabriella in English) is a tribute to Joy's strength.

  • Gali Joy Yocheved Berkowitz, daughter of Joy's sister Michelle and her husband, Laurence.

  • Gilad Hallel Berkowitz, son of Joy's sister Michelle and her husband, Laurence, as well as twin brother of Gali Joy Yocheved. "Gilad" is a reference to "testimony to joy" and "everlasting joy," as well as to the sedrah of the week in which he was born, which includes "galeid."

  • Navah Joy Labinsky-Fleischer (in Hebrew, Navah Aidel), daughter of Joy's friend Dr. Ellen Labinsky and her husband, Simon Fleischer.

  • Talya Gili Gershinsky, daughter of Joy's friends Zev and Efrat Gershinsky. "Gili" is a reference to "joy."

  • Moshe Simcha Penn, son of Ira (Jerry's first cousin) and Raizel Penn. "Simcha" is a reference to "joy."
